Victorian Mansion Christmas Tour
The Victorian House is a Pre-Civil War Opulence. It is absolutely beautiful and is open all year round for touring. It began its Christmas tour November 28th and will keep going until January 4th. It's a must see, and has a great gift shop at the end of the tours! Highly recommended.

It's getting to be that time of year again where we all sing Christmas carols, drink hot chocolate, and watch 25 Days of Christmas on ABC. This year I want to hear where people are going for the Holidays. Click the link below, it's connected to my tumblr and I want to hear where you're going this Holiday season. Are you going to a friends, relatives, traveling across the country, or the world? I want to know!

I've been thinking about this for a while, and I really want people to contact me and tell me about them. Feel free to ask questions or anything through the link. I'll try to respond as soon as I can. The reason I'm specifically asking about where people are heading this Holiday season, is because I want to know what its like for other people's experiences. I think it would be so cool to go to England for Christmas, and walking around cities. Or go to New York City and see the tree in Time Square all lit up. So I hope to hear all about people's plans. :)

Happy Thanksgiving
Hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving and ate a lot of food and spent time with the families. This post is going to be about our Dahlborg Thanksgiving Adventure (a family experience).
My parents woke up this morning at 2:30 am with the power out. I woke up around 7:30 am to the power still being out. With no tv or cable to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade instead we played boardgames and ate cookies for breakfast. We hoped after we were done with our games that the power would be back on so we could start working on dinner. That didn't happen so we decided by 11:30 am we would go to get Chinese food. Online the restaurant said it was open. We drive 30 min to the Chinese restaurant and it's not open. Next option is to drive 20 min to an Italian food place. They were too packed when we made it there, and by that time we were so hungry we left. We ended up going to another Chinese restaurant that is a buffet. They were running on a generator and the food was cold, but by that point we were so hungry we ate it anyways. We make it home around 1:40 pm. No power, and the house is starting to get really cold because we also didn't have heat. Thankfully we were saved by some relatives that saved us some of their dinner to feed us. By the time we got home 7:30 pm, the electricity was back. We lost power for a total of 17 hours. Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful. I can tell you now we are SO thankful for that hot meal and spending time with family!

November 15, 2014

I just wanted to say thank you so much for everyone who have seen and have read my blog posts. It means the world to me knowing people around the country are looking at my words.

I've noticed lately more things about myself that I've never seem to concentrate on before. I think about the way I react to things, or the way I listen to things. To think about ourselves in such a way makes people self conscience and awkward. But then when we are in a conversation with a friend it is so easy to know what they're about to say. You could think of this idea as knowing them more than you know yourself. Don't think of it that way though. It's easy to make assumptions about people without really knowing them like you may know yourself. We live in a society where we focus on what other people might be or what they might think instead of focusing on what is good for ourselves. They could be called "prude, innocent, slutty, whore.." and the list goes on. But do we really know them? I like to think we label people simply because it's in our nature to do so. Then again, I also see it as us seeing flaws in ourselves and finding the same ones in other people. So the first thing we do is judge them on it. Is it the right thing to do? Not necessarily. But do we do it? Yes. Even though I'm young, I'm starting to see who I truly am. I recently just saw something on the internet and it said, "Rumors and lies, they're just words." I agree with that quote, I just wish there was a part in it saying that some words are more than just words like love, hero, identity, and value. Words can do so much both positively and negatively, it's just how we use them is what matters. One thing that we should think about is finding ourselves before judging someone when they haven't figured out who they are.

Labels
What do these labels do to us? They separate us. This post is based off of a topic discussed in one of my classes recently. We all have those moments where we want to fit in or we want to be different, and there is nothing wrong with that. A thought I brought up was clothing and how that could make us judge people and categorize them. I like to look at the clothes we wear in a way to represent who we are. It is another form of art and expression. If we all wear uniforms, the only thing taken away from the judgement piece is our clothing. People will still curl there hair or straighten it and still wear make up. We will still envy people, but in a different way. Or judge people on who looks best in the uniform. That does not allow anyone to stand out or be different. Labels like short, tall, skinny, heavy are just another way to categorize us and separate us. It is typical for a person to say that what is on the inside counts the most, but it is the truth. There are a lot of really pretty people with personalities that makes them a lot less attractive. If you are confident then that will radiate and show. People will notice it and respect you. I can't say I am perfect though, I find myself judging people when I shouldn't. All labels do to us is take an identity away from the person, and now they are compared to someone else. We lose the most important thing each person should have, and that's our individuality. I don't want to lose mine. Do you?

Holiday Season

It's getting to be that time again where all the little kids go trick-or-treating, and the older kids go to parties. It's Halloween! This holiday has always been a favorite of mine, and not just the holiday but the season. It's fall and that means, leaves are changing, corn mazes, haunted hay rides, carving pumpkins, costume shopping, and the best of all Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks! Fall is the only time of the year where everything looks beautiful while it dies. Like leaves for an example. The colors turn from dark and light greens to bright reds, oranges, and yellows. This time of the year is the start for my favorite holidays. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Halloween has always been big in my family. Our front yard has plenty of decorations that will scream Halloween to anyone who sees it. Even though I have a brother and sister both in college, and I'm in High School, we still go trick-or-treating. My sister and I love to dress up, and we drag our brother along. It's the only time of the year where you get free candy, so I make a point of taking advantage of that.
Thanksgiving just happens to be on my birthday every 7 years. I love Thanksgiving dinner and desserts! Stuffing, chicken, potato, corn, beans, carrots, and bread. Then we have pumpkin pie, chocolate pie, chocolate chip cookies, and cranberry sauce.
Christmas and Christmas Eve makes me feel like I'm a little kid again in Disney. I get butterflies in my stomach, because I get so excited. Christmas Eve means we all get to go to Christmas Eve mass then go home and open one gift. On Christmas, us kids wake up at 3 am, watch Monster Inc. and wait till 5:30 to wake our parents up to open stockings. Then we have a small breakfast and open the gifts, and then we make a big breakfast.
Holiday season is the time of year to celebrate with family and friends!

Welcome to my blog Tall Skinny Blonde LatTEEN. My blog will show my inspirations, dreams, and ideas. (Plus some Starbucks appearances!)
To get started, I want you guys to know me. I'm tall, skinny, blonde, and I'm a teen. My hobbies are: drawing, reading, writing, traveling, drinking Starbucks, and playing with my adorable dog Gabriel. I absolutely love One Direction! I want to travel across the country to Italy, Spain, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, New Zealand, and Australia. My plan in life is to graduate college and come out in a History degree with a minor of Studio Arts. I want to live in Rhode Island near the water with a big Golden Retriever and a handsome husband. Waking up every day to a sunrise and walking on the beach with my dog sounds amazing to me. I want to live my life with all 4 seasons. Spring, with everything budding and all the flowers coming out. Summer, going to the beach and tanning. Fall, seeing all the leaves change. Winter, sitting by a fire with coco with family.
I do need to live near a Starbucks when I'm older, though. You never know who you might see..
