Labels
What do these labels do to us? They separate us. This post is based off of a topic discussed in one of my classes recently. We all have those moments where we want to fit in or we want to be different, and there is nothing wrong with that. A thought I brought up was clothing and how that could make us judge people and categorize them. I like to look at the clothes we wear in a way to represent who we are. It is another form of art and expression. If we all wear uniforms, the only thing taken away from the judgement piece is our clothing. People will still curl there hair or straighten it and still wear make up. We will still envy people, but in a different way. Or judge people on who looks best in the uniform. That does not allow anyone to stand out or be different. Labels like short, tall, skinny, heavy are just another way to categorize us and separate us. It is typical for a person to say that what is on the inside counts the most, but it is the truth. There are a lot of really pretty people with personalities that makes them a lot less attractive. If you are confident then that will radiate and show. People will notice it and respect you. I can't say I am perfect though, I find myself judging people when I shouldn't. All labels do to us is take an identity away from the person, and now they are compared to someone else. We lose the most important thing each person should have, and that's our individuality. I don't want to lose mine. Do you?
