Summer 🌞

A lot of you have been asking me where I've been the past couple months. I've had quite some trouble thinking about what I should blog next. There's nothing better to talk about though than summer vacation 🐘🐠🐬🐚☀️🌅🍒

I have a message I want everyone to know about. I recently posted a photo on my personal Instagram about a shirt I bought for the brand Ivory Ella. It's a wonderful program that support saving elephants. I suggest everyone go to http://ivoryella.com/collections/all?page=1 and check it out!

Another message I want to let everyone know is that this fall I will be competing for Miss Maine Teen USA. Last year, I got to watch my sister make a difference through her reign as Miss Maine USA. She got to travel and meet new people. She made connections and memories that are irreplaceable. This year, I decided that I'm going to compete for Miss Maine Teen USA.

So far this summer has been mainly all work and tons of pay. I've been saving every penny I earn for a trip to Italy and possibly Greece my senior year of high school. It will definitely be worth all the work! But, I did get a week out with two of my closets friends to a resort. We went to Wentworth By the Sea in New Hampshire, a beautiful hotel with an amazing view of the water to celebrate my friends 16th birthday! We also were pampered at the spa which was a wonderful treat!

Other plans this summer include day trips to the beach, hanging out with friends, traveling, trying out new hotels, and working so I can go an explore the world. Lots more to blog later, but for now it's time for me to go.

bye bye loves,

Maroon 5 Concert TD Bank Garden
March 3rd, 2015

The Maroon 5 Concert was one of the best concerts I have ever been, too. Adam Levine really connected with the audience pausing after every couple of songs to interact with everyone.

Eventually I am going to figure out how to upload videos from the concert onto here.. there is a problem with how many MB it can be.. which is seriously so depressing please bare with me.
On another note, Tall Skinny Blonde Latteen is taking on a new social media site!
Instagram!
Go ahead and follow my account https://instagram.com/tallskinnyblondelatteen/
Really hope you guys enjoy it. It will have everything from this blog and possibly more. :)

"I let them think what they want, if they care enough to bother with what I do, than I am already better than them." -Marilyn Monroe
Today I thought about how much image effects the way people think of one another. What we wear, who we hang out with, what we chose to do.. etc. Then thinking more about it, it wasn't a problem about what other people thought about each other, it was about how we felt about ourselves. So I decided to ask a couple people from both genders questions about image.
Here are the questions
1.) What do you feel most comfortable wearing?
2.) Does your friend group support who you are or make you feel bad about yourself?
3.) Have you tried to be someone who you aren't? If so why?
4.) If you did change who you are then how did it make you feel about yourself?
...and the answers
1.)
  • Anything comfy or fancy.
  • I like to be dressed up, but also casual. You can wear a cute dressy outfit in any situation. It's always better to be over dressed instead of under dressed.
  • Yoga pants and like a kind of baggy sweatshirt.
  •  Dresses or a hot outfit or really nice clothes.
2.)
  • I have different groups, most of them are awesome but some of them make me feel uncomfortable about what I wear or how I look.
  • I have 100% support from my friends.
  • They support who I am but sometimes they just think their greater than everyone else and everything that comes out of their mouth is all about them and not me.
  • My friend group has changed so much and I'd have to say there are very few people that I can trust to always be there for me and support what I do.
3.)
  • I don't think so... unless trying to be Blair Waldorf counts
  • Kind of. I've tried to alter my flaws to please people.
  • I have had to try to be someone I'm not I am right now and I don't like it but sometimes you just have to be someone else other people like you.
  • a true friend would defend you. That's hard to find. And that certainly wasn't in my old friend group. I just tried to be one of them. A "popular". I tried to fit in because it was all I had ever known.
4.)
  • I never really succeeded at it but I don't like pretending to be someone I'm not.
  • I also found myself apologizing to a lot of people for the things I had said or done cause it was wrong. It was totally a life lesson and I'm glad looking back on it now that I went through it all. I know now what not to be. I found myself through it all and who I want to be.
Now for my answers
1.) I feel most comfortable wearing jeans and t shirt or sweater.
2.) Over the years my friend groups have grown and changed. I never had one best friend, because I would always move around in friend groups and change. Most of my friends support me, the ones that didn't in the past just so happen to be left in the past.
3.) I have tried to be someone I wasn't. I thought if someone could like me then a lot of people would like me.
4.) Honestly, that didn't make me feel good about myself. I had to always have this act of trying to be someone who pleases everyone else, but I never sat down and gave myself the time of day to please myself.

The number 1 reason I'm blogging about this today is because I want people to see how image can be good and bad. It can make people feel like they need to change to fit a certain criteria that they never needed to be apart of. Friends are a big part of this. If they don't support you or make you feel good about yourself, than that isn't fair. Quoting my previous blog post "Confidence is Key": "Self-confidence is the most attractive quality a person can have. How can anyone see how attractive you are if you can't see it yourself?" A confident/happy image is an image that will let you shine through life. Don't think that if you are not happy you should change who you are, but you should become a better you. A you that you would be proud to look at in the mirror and say "Look at who I am and look at all the wonderful things I've done."

Tips on image~
  • always feel comfortable in your on skin
  • be who you are and not someone everyone wants you to be
  • keep the question in the back of your mind "what's the worst that could happen?"
  • try to do something new
  • focus on the positives in life
  • focus on all of the amazing qualities you posses

Review on the 57th Grammys
An amazing show that captivates its audience every year. Now, here's my run down of the night.
The Red Carpet
Dos & Don't

Do wear..
Nicki looked amazing in this black dress with a deep V cut. Right before the knee it turned into a sequined fringe exposing her legs.
scale: 9/10

Taylor Swift had the best dress of the night in my opinion. I loved the blue green color, and the opening in the front exposing her legs was perfect. There was a lot of black dresses, it was nice to have a pop of color.
scale: 10/10
Ariana had an amazing white and silver dress with a slit at the bottom and a small slit at the top. A Versace dress is always the right choice.
scale: 9.5/10
Personally I loved the simplicity of the dress with the elegant well placed cut outs. The hair was a little bit too much for my taste, but the color and fitting of the dress were great.
scale: 8/10

Don't wear...
First things first, this looks like a giant cupcake. All over twitter there were remarks about how Rhianna stopped at a Quinceañera before coming to the Grammys. That could be true.. but she made up for it in her performance outfit which was stunning.
scale: 3/10 performance scale: 8/10

Lady Gaga looked normal compared to all her past music videos, but this dress was a little too much sequin for my taste. Personally, I'm not in favor of a deep v neckline or a slit along the leg. Hair shouldn't much the dress either.
scale: 1/10

Kim K has a nice instagram, but her outfit tonight looked like a sparkly bath robe. Not a fan. Kim has amazing fashion, I think she could've found something better.
scale: 2/10

 #mood

Ever have one of those moods where you want to drop everything and travel to explore somewhere new?
That's exactly how I feel right now. I just want to walk under pretty fairy tale lights or sit at a nice café and drink my infamous Starbucks while eating a cupcake. Why not leave the harsh cold weather and go somewhere nice, calm, and beautiful? It would be a great change in scenery considering that the snow in my yard is over 32 inches!

I can only imagine what it would be like to walk under the Eiffel Tower in the spring with the blossom trees swaying back and forth surrounding it. Having a chance to tour Le Louvre would be trés parfait! I would love looking at all the art France has to offer. Then going to an authentic French boulangerie-patisserie to enjoy a baguette or dessert!
Then I would love to go to Rome to see the Colosseum, and once I was too tired to walk, I would go on a river boat ride. While I was there I would try every dish they would serve me. (preferably the pasta!)
Imagine England and seeing Big Ben towering over all the buildings. Oh I can't even picture how amazing touring all the old English castles would be!
Lastly I would have to go south to Australia to learn how to surf the big waves. Even though the "Big Things" are a major tourist destination, I would have to visit as many as I could on my travels. Scuba diving would be my personal favorite at the Great Barrier Reef being the biggest coral reef system in the world.

It's always nice to think about traveling around the world... definitely when you'll be stuck inside all day until the family calls you out to shovel. I'm totally suffering right now of wanderlust

Confidence is Key

Confidence is Key

I am a teenage girl, and during this stage of a girls life, it happens to be one of the more emotional times. We are just figuring out who we are or who we strive to be, but we still have obstacles in our way that make us doubt ourselves. My post... is to ease the difficulties we face from time to time with some positivity.
"Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent."
"Be Humble in your confidence yet courageous in your character."
"Self-confidence is the most attractive quality a person can have. How can anyone see how attractive you are if you can't see it yourself?"
"I let them think what they want. If they care enough to bother with what I do, then I'm already better than them."
To accept yourself is the number one step to be happy. A body is beautiful no matter what shape or size. Let it be shone off because everyone was designed differently. Let your personality shine because there are no two of the same personalities. We put up standards for ourselves that shouldn't have to exist. I want to hear about goals in life and what YOU want to achieve. The obstacles are only a test, and to pass is to believe in yourself and care for yourself.
I watched a show on TV once and it said to look in the mirror and compliment yourself.
1.) You'll think it's foolish and get a good laugh out of it.
2.) You'll see yourself in a new way.
Funny thing is, I did that for a while. I had a good laugh, and it made me feel better about myself. I did see myself in a new way, in a more confident way. Try it out!
My sister has an amazing program called The Confidence Project. It lets girls have a photo shoot for the day, dress up, and have fun. They have a bio next to the pictures they take answering questions like: when do you feel the most confident? Why is confidence so important in young women? It's an amazing blog, so definitely check it out.

Last thing I'm going to say is, to be happy and love who you are. For those of you who know me, text me if you want someone to talk to. For those of you who don't I'll leave the link to my tumblr so you can talk to me through my ask box.

Happy Late New Year to everyone who reads my blog :)
Hope everyone had a fantastic time with family or partying with friends!
Today has been the first snowfall of the year for us Mainers. It makes me reminisce on my trip to the Bahamas in the summer. Here's some photos from my trip! It was an amazing vacation, where we got to cheer on our very on Miss Maine Teen. She rocked the stage and made Maine proud. It was also a very relaxing vacation, going to the water park right next to the hotel or lounging at the pool. The best part was being with my family enjoying the whole experience. There are a lot more pictures that may be posted from this trip at a later date.
